Rob, Alice, Hazel And Leo In 100 Words Each Meades Family

Rob Rob is an electronic engineer with no out-of-control beard (anymore).

Current interests include  beer, moths, astrophotography, ferrets and machining. Work is basically a hobby.  He and Alice were married in Hawaii on 25 November 95.

He worked for British, Japanese and American firms, and spent 10 years at TTPCom until the Americans broke it up. He started Qasara with a band of guys who don't want to be under the direct control of others any more. After surviving complete loss of funding and a world depression Qasara was bought by Blackberry as they rose to their peak.  He has since landed at u-blox doing technical stuff, without oppression, very happily.

Alice Alice was born in Sheffield and went to University in Birmingham where she met Rob.

Alice graduated with a BSc in microbiology, but promptly got a job working with computers in London for the CEGB cum National Power.  She moved on to PC support for a firm of solicitors in the city, but gave it up when she and Rob started a family.

She currently works in catering at a large secondary school.  The pay isn’t great but she gets school holidays off, and enjoys it far more than she expected too when she first got the job.

Alice spends her free time line dancing, learning tai chi chuan (yang form), reading fantasy, and gardening.

Hazel Hazel is a User Experience Designer who likes helping people and creating things.

Hazel studied Music Technology and Psychology at Keele University, and completed her Masters in Ethnomusicology (the study of how music manifests in culture) at Goldsmiths University. A Code First Girls course during her Masters introduced Hazel to UX so, after graduating again, she spent 2020 doing a mishmash of remote volunteer and freelance work to learn more about the field.

Now Hazel is a full-time UXer at LexisNexis Risk Solutions Group (we do data things). In her spare time she enjoys recording original songs for her next album, going on long exploratory walks in green spaces, and binge-watching TV shows.

Leo Leo is a sixth form student who swears too much and is also probably procrastinating.
