Moths Found on 2 October 2011

Forward to 8 April 2012 moth page, back to 18 September 2011 moth page, to general moths page.

"Last trapping of the season" pah!  Yesterday saw the highest ever recorded October temperature, at 29.9C, with temperatures here apparently topping those in Athens, Los Angeles and Barcelona.  Mind you, snow is forecast for later in the month. Anyway, what did we catch?  Notably, the moths that immitate Autumn leaves. Those worth photographing included:

Otherwise the trap included several Large Yellow Underwings, Shuttle-shaped Darts and a Square-spot Rustic; all rather impressive for October.
